Vista Musical Instruments – Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 12 June 2026
1. Introduction
1.1. This Privacy Policy explains how Vista Musical Instruments Pte. Ltd. (“VMI”) collects, uses, shares, and stores personal data across our websites, mobile apps, and services (collectively, the “Services”), including your VMI Account.
1.2. Personal data (“Information”) refers to any data that can identify an individual, either directly or indirectly.
1.3. This policy applies to anyone using our Services.
2. Your VMI Account
2.1. A VMI Account is a single account that works across VMI brands and services — for example MONO, Kenny’s Music, Swee Lee, and VMI Connect. You may create it on account.vistamusic.com, in one of our apps, or directly on a brand’s website. Wherever you create it, the account itself is operated by VMI under this policy and the VMI Account Terms of Use.
2.2. Your VMI Account Information includes your name, email address, and country; sign-in data (one-time email codes, and a password if you choose to set one); the brand or platform where you created the account and the date you accepted the Terms; and membership and benefit information (for example, membership tier or extended-warranty eligibility).
3. VMI Account and Brand Stores
3.1. Many VMI brand stores are operated by local VMI group entities, and some run on third-party commerce platforms such as Shopify.
3.2. The store you buy from is responsible for your orders, payments, and other store data under its own terms and privacy policy (and those of its providers, such as Shopify and Stripe). VMI is responsible for your VMI Account data, as described in this policy.
3.3. When you sign in to a brand store with your VMI Account, or link an existing store account to your VMI Account, we exchange with that store only what is needed to operate your account and benefits — typically your name, email address, account identifier, and membership or benefit status (for example, purchase details needed to register an extended warranty).
4. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide Directly
- Account Information: When you register, we may collect your name, email, and password, and the VMI Account details described above.
- Profile Information: You may choose to provide details such as your profile picture, location, and preferences.
- Content: Any content you upload to the Services, including photos, audio, text, and comments.
- Communications: If you contact us (e.g., support requests, feedback), we collect and store these communications.
B. Automatically Collected Information
- Usage Data: We collect analytics data, such as pages visited, interactions, and app performance.
- Cookies & Similar Technologies: We use cookies and tracking technologies to keep you signed in and improve your experience. You can manage cookie settings in your browser.
- Device Identifiers: We may collect device information like IP address, browser type, and operating system.
5. How We Use Your Information
- Operate your VMI Account and sign you in across VMI brands and services.
- Provide, personalise, and improve our Services.
- Attach benefits to your account (for example, extended warranty on eligible purchases).
- Analyse usage trends and enhance user experience.
- Communicate updates, offers, and support messages.
- Prevent fraud, ensure security, and comply with legal obligations.
We process Information based on contractual necessity, legitimate interest, legal compliance, and user consent where applicable.
6. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share Information with:
- Related entities and brand stores: Businesses that are legally part of the same group of companies as us, or that become part of that group — so your VMI Account and benefits work across our brands, as described in section 3.
- Service Providers: Third-party partners who assist with hosting, authentication, email delivery, analytics, payment processing (e.g., Stripe), and commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify), under contracts that protect your data.
- Legal & Regulatory Bodies: If required by law or to protect our rights and users.
- Business Transfers: In case of mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring.
7. Data Storage, Transfers & Security
7.1. Your Information may be stored and processed in different countries where we or our service providers operate, including Singapore. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect transferred data in line with applicable privacy laws, including the Singapore PDPA and, where they apply, the GDPR and UK GDPR.
7.2. We implement technical and organisational measures to protect personal data from unauthorised access or misuse.
7.3. Retention: We retain Information only as long as necessary for legal, operational, or business purposes.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not intended for children under 13. If we become aware of data collection from minors, we will delete it. Parents can contact us for concerns.
9. Third-Party Links
Our Services may contain links to external websites or third-party services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies before sharing your data.
10. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
- Correction: Update inaccurate information.
- Deletion: Request data removal.
- Portability: Receive your data in a portable format.
- Opt-Out: Control marketing communications and tracking preferences.
You can update your details or delete your VMI Account yourself at any time at account.vistamusic.com. Deleting your VMI Account removes the account data held by VMI; data held independently by a brand store about your orders remains subject to that store’s privacy policy. For anything else, contact us at support@vistamusic.com. You can opt out of marketing at any time via the unsubscribe link in our emails.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website with the updated effective date.
