VMI Connect – Gear Benefits Terms

1. How the extension works

VMI Connect members receive six additional months on the applicable warranty for eligible products purchased from participating stores. Members with an active Insider subscription receive a further six months on the eligible fretted instruments listed below.

The additional months are added to the warranty period that applies to the specific product. Standard warranty periods vary by product. All periods are calculated from the original purchase date; linking an account or joining Insider does not restart the warranty clock.

The selling store provides and administers the warranty during the additional months. The original warranty’s coverage, exclusions, remedies, claim procedure, registration requirements and territorial limits continue to apply.

2. Participating stores

These terms cover eligible purchases from:

• Swee Lee in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brunei, the Philippines and Thailand;
• Dawsons in the United Kingdom, under its Dawsons Guarantee and warranty procedure;
• the linked Harmony and Heritage Guitars stores in the United States.

Eligibility is based on the store and country where the product was purchased, rather than the member’s country of residence.

3. Linking your account and eligible purchases

To receive the extension, link the store account used for the purchase to your VMI Account. No separate product registration in VMI Connect is required. Any registration required by the product’s original warranty still applies.

Eligible purchases made before 1 September 2026 can also receive the extension. Their warranty dates remain calculated from the original purchase date. Cancelled or fully refunded items are excluded; where only part of an order is returned, the benefit can apply only to the items kept.

The dated appendix below lists participating brands by store country. A listed brand does not mean that every product from that brand is eligible. If eligibility matters to a purchase you are considering, ask the selling store to confirm the specific product before buying.

An extension already granted to a purchase through a linked account will be honoured if the participating brand or product lists later change. If you unlink the store account, the VMI Connect extension stops applying. Relinking the same account restores an extension already granted, provided its period calculated from the purchase date has not ended.

4. Additional Insider period

The further six months for Insider applies only to these eligible product types: solid-body electric guitars, acoustic guitars, hollow-body electric guitars, semi-hollow electric guitars, classical guitars, 7-string electric guitars, guitar bundles, 4-string basses, 5-string basses, 6-string basses and ukuleles. For a guitar bundle, this additional period applies to the eligible guitar, not to other items in the bundle.

You may become an Insider after buying an eligible instrument. The warranty date still runs from the original purchase date. The additional Insider period applies only while your Insider membership is active, including the remainder of a paid subscription period after cancellation. If membership ends, the Insider period stops applying. It can apply again if you resubscribe before the period calculated from the purchase date has ended.

5. Claims and purchase records

Contact the selling store to make a warranty claim. Provide proof of purchase and the details needed to verify your linked account. For a Dawsons UK purchase, follow theDawsons warranty claim procedure.

If an eligible purchase is missing from My Gear, contact VMI Connect support with your order details so the record can be checked. Any warranty date displayed in My Gear is based on available purchase records and may be corrected if those records are inaccurate.

6. Other rights and changes

These extensions add to, and do not replace or limit, rights under applicable consumer law. They do not change separate warranties offered by a manufacturer or another brand.

Participating stores, brands, products and benefit terms may change for extensions not yet granted. Changes to the eligibility lists will not remove an extension already granted to a linked purchase, subject to the account-linking and active Insider conditions explained above. Updates to these terms will state their effective date.
